VICTORIA (ON VANCOUVER ISLAND)

For decades Victoria has been known as the most "British" city in North America.  Horse-drawn carriages are still one of the most pleasant ways to see the city and double-decker buses weave the streets.  Afternoon tea (High Tea) at the Empress Hotel is a tradition not to be missed.  The mild climate makes easy times of  kayaking, cycling, hiking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, windsurfing, and scuba diving. There are many interesting museums including the Maritime Museum, Aviation Museum and the Miniatures Museum.  Closeby by are World-famous Butchart Gardens and nearby Victoria Butterfly Gardens.

Victoria's inner harbor is beautiful and is the hub of downtown activity. The harbour bustles with kayaks, float planes, yachts, whale-watching boats, tour boats, ferries and little floating water taxis.

Consider renting a car from Victoria to drive "up-island" to see Chemainus, Duncan, Nanaimo, the Pacific Rim National Rainforest and much more.  Beautiful sandy beaches and boat rentals to whisk you onto the inside pasage await.
