Day 1
Overnight is included at our selected Toronto hotel this evening (transfers
not included and we can arrange additional nights before the
tour starts).
Day 2 Board the "Silver
and Blue" train at 0900 (Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday)
for the remarkable rail journey West. Discover how the
West was won Canadian Style as you retrace the historic western
transcontinental route that, early this century, opened the
west and created a bond of steel that redefined a nation.

Day 3
Travel through the lakes and forests of the Canadian Shield
into the prairies of Manitoba arriving in Winnipeg at 3:55PM.
Depart at 4:55PM and roll across the prairies through Saskatchewan.
Let the gentle motion of the train put you to sleep this evening.

Day 4
Arrive in Edmonton, Capital of Alberta, at 8:10AM. Departure
is at 8:55 to the "Jewel of the Rockies", Jasper.
We arrive in Jasper at 2:15PM. Transfer to our hotel with
the remainder of the day free to explore the town. There
are over a dozen mountain ranges in Southern Alberta and British
Columbia and we have the honor of seeing most of them over the
next few days.
Day 5
his
morning we tour JASPER
and, above the townsite, beautiful PYRAMID
LAKE. Perhaps take an optional
cruise of magnificent MALIGNE
LAKE and its incredible aquamarine waters.
The views are stunning and the water is a shade of blue found
only in these mountains. Spirit Island is a famous
spot for photographers seeking the perfect picture.
Return to Jasper via the Valley of the FIVE
LAKES.
Those staying for additional nights can travel on their own a
few miles to the south of Jasper to the JASPER
GONDOLA
from where the views of the valleys and peaks are outstanding.
Perhaps visit ATHABASCA
FALLS
and the little hidden gem that is called
HORSESHOE
LAKE.
Day
6
BANFF
NATIONAL PARK on
our deluxe motor coach along the Icefields Parkway. This
is one of the most scenic drives on earth. We'll ride
a Sno-Coach (weather permitting) onto the Columbia Icefield's
ATHABASCA
GLACIER. The Columbia Icefields are 125 square miles
in size (massive!), with no fewer than 30 glaciers where 3 river
systems flow to three different oceans. The Icefields
Parkway delivers us past
BOW
LAKE, PEYTO
LAKE and
MISTAYA
LAKE
south to
LAKE
LOUISE,
one of the
most enchanting spots on earth. We see the reflections
of the mountains in her aqua blue waters and we'll find out
how rock flour helps the water retain its mesmerizing color.
Continue further into BANFF
NATIONAL PARK to
the
majestic town of
BANFF.
Early evening arrival in Banff.
This evening step out for a walk past the magnificent Banff
Springs Hotel, styled after a Scottish Baronial style castle
it is perched on the side of a mountain overlooking gushing
Bow Falls.
Day 7
Join us on an afternoon tour up Sulfur
Mountain on the BANFF
GONDOLA. The views will take
your breath away. In the evening we can enjoy an optional
dinner featuring cuisine and entertainment all about Canada.
Take a cruise on LAKE
MINNEWANKA or the very adventurous
can choose to take a helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies.
Day 8
Our deluxe motor coach follows
the Bow Valley Parkway and Johnston Canyon to magnificent Lake
Louise, world famous for its aquamarine blue waters. We
learn about "rock flour" and the effect it has on
a select few lakes in the Rocky Mountains of Canada. Unpack
for two nights at Lake Louise.
Day 9
This grand morning is ours to enjoy this picturesque setting.
Walk the lakeshore, rent a canoe or hike to a mountain teahouse
an Lake Agnes. This afternoon we stand before thundering
Takakaw Falls in the Yoho Valley.

10
Cross the Continental Divide into mountainous British Columbia.
Lunch at the Hillcrest Resort Hotel (outside of Revelstoke)
is included with overnight (and dinner) included at the Lac
la Jeune Resort.
